Yesterday I shared a video that was soo cute. Everytime I watch it, I smile. I am now in love with the song (I have downloaded it to my iPod!). So a little more surfing reveals this . . .
Good thing they were only kidding!

Birthday Girl
Look at this cutie! Can you tell how old she is? I love how this layout came out. It was really a group effort. I got together with the girls to scrapbook on Saturday and we had a ball. Let's see, I used Yolanda's Cuttlebug folder for the embossed happy birathday in the upper left corner and Yolanda's sanding block to bring take off the color and bring up the white. Eva's Cuttlebug flowers and more of Yolanda's embossing folders. Kari's Glimmer Mist for the green color. Yolanda's Glimmer Mist for the suede color. Karen's idea for the paper pleating on the right side of the picture. I also used the Martha Stewart loopy punch all around the outside of the layout. Thanks Ladies - I had a great time. This layout was for the Queen of Paradise Island Challenge over at Croppin Paradise. The challenge was to only use cardstock on a layout. Voting is today - http://answers.polldaddy.com/poll/1936731/
Stay tuned for Wednesday. The final challenge layout will be revealed and voting will be up then.

Ice, Ice Baby
Or no ice baby. My ice maker is behaving badly. Well actually, the ice maker is doing its job just fine. It is the water line I am upset with. The water line keeps popping off the back of the refrigerator. When we are able to get it on, the water squirts out the top and then pops off. Looks like ice trays are in my future for a while.
Queen of Paradise Island Contest
As you know, I have been participating in a “Queen of Paradise Island” challenge at CroppinParadise.com. This is the card I completed for the 3rd mini challenge. Our challenge was to create a card or tag that contained embossing. I passed through this round as my card received enough votes.
We are nearing the end of the contest. Challenge 4 is due today and immunity will be granted to 4 survivors. For this challenge, we needed to scrapbook a page about our favorite book. I opted to go with my favorite auther/series of books (see above). For those not granted immunity, there will be another mini challenge due on Sunday morning and then voting will commence through Monday afternoon. The 4 top vote earners will join the 4 immunity winners in the final round.
One final challenge will be issued on Monday night/Tuesday morning, August 31st/September 1st. The challenge will be due by Friday, September 4th at 5pm. The vote will go up on Friday night and last for 48 hours... The top vote earner will be crowned Queen!! There will also be a 2nd, 3rd and 4th place winner!
Wish me luck!

My BFF
I am still participating in Croppin Paradise's Queen of Paradise Island contest. Last weeks challenge was to scrapbook about one person you wish was on this island with you. I chose to scrapbook about one of my bestest friends, Heather. While I didn't win immunity with this layout, I am really pleased with the way it turned out. The journaling reads:
"Heather and I have been friends since 1990, when we used to go t Los Sanchez every Friday night. Heather is the type of friend I can (and have) called @ 2:00am and cry with. I love you my friend. Thanks for always being there for me!"
I also used sketch number 41 from Scrapwhispers.blogspot.com for my base inspiration.

Meeting Tinkerbell
Aren't these kiddos cute? I created this layout for the Cropping Paradise "Queen of Paradise Island" Challenge - Week 2. It is a Survivor type challenge that is running all month. And guess what? With this layout, I won immunity for this week!! What isn't apparent from the scan is all the glitter pen work. You see the flowers across the top of the page? I used a glitter pen and went over all the petals. In fact, wherever you see words, the letters glisten and sparkle along with the flowers!

Good Bye My Friend
it is with a heavy heart that I type this. It has been a really tough last few days. This morning, Patrick and I decided to put Butter to sleep. We were there for the procedure and let me tell you, it is the hardest thing I have ever done in my life.
Butter, you have been a really great dog and we miss you greatly. Rest in peace my friend.

My Butter has Cancer
You can see the tumor on his spinal cord in this section of the MRI. The line in the middle is running through the tumor, that white spot kind of like a triangle is not supposed to be there. We are still awaiting a couple of tests to come back. We spoke to the oncologist today and with radiation, we are only looking at extending his life maybe a year. We have brought him home for now. They gave him the same pain meds Bailey is on. We go back next week for a follow-up. If he is not better, it will be time to say good bye. This is really hard for us right now. I thought that I had been preparing myself for what the vet would say today, but when you hear those words, it is not something you can prepare yourself for.

Does your husband ever do this?
So I was talking to my husband from the other room and I find myself having to talk louder. I go into the living room to find the volume on the tv had increased. I asked him if he turned the tv up so he couldn't hear me. He just smiled. (That man has a lovely smile) Hummm. . . what do you think the point was there???
