New Layouts

I went scrapping with a few friends on Saturday. We had a great time just catching up and scrapping. Here are a couple of layouts that I started and then finished at home.

Don't Bet Against the Angels!

Gino is home and we received tickets to the Angel game (thanks Ken) for Thursday night's game. Texas scored 4 runs in the 1st inning and it didn't look good for the Angels. Gino made a be with Christina regarding the outcome of the game. Guess who lost? Lesson learned - never bet against the Angels!!

We had a great time at the game and as you can guess, the Angels won, 7-5!!

Cousins

It is always fun for these two cousins to get together. Since Alexis lives in about 4 hours away, the girls don't get to spend much time together. Here they are on the carousel. Alexis had brought those shirts for them to wear. One other ride the want to make sure ride was the Finding Nemo ride. Grandpa Pat stood in line with them for over an hour then the rest of us line jumped at the last minute and got to ride too!

Check out the SoCalScraps Message Board

Be sure to drop by and check the site out. http://www.socalscrap.us/ They just had a really cool cyber crop last weekend. I missed out on all the cool happening as I was in Las Vegas. All the tutorials and project directions are still up. The ladies did a fantastic job.

Camera Update

Well it is not good news, but it is not entirely bad news either. They have to send my camera back to Sony for repair. They are estimating $300 for repairs. A new camera, the same model would cost me about $500-$600. The step-up model would cost me $1,200. Since I have a few nice lens and books to go with my model, I will just have this one fixed. Bummer part, it looks like I won't have my big camera when we go on our Alaskan cruise this year.

Home Again

We are back from Las Vegas. We went for our Friday night bowling league. At the end of every league, we bowl what we call "sweeps" (a mini tournment). We didn't do well bowling and we never do well gambling so we didn't come home with anything more than memoires of a great show. We saw the musical Jersey Boys at the Palazzo Hotel. That was a great show. If you get the chance to see it, by all means do. I had bought the cd before we left and Pat must have played it over and over again on the drive home. After the show we drove to the downtown area of Las Vegas and walked around Freemont Street.

As the trip to Las Vegas can be long and tedious, I brought along a book to read. I had started Songs of the Humpback Whale and finished it on the way home. Great book.

Our annual cruise is coming up and I have been looking for a new dress to wear on formal night. This is the dress that just might get the final nodd. I have to make up my mind pretty quick as I will have to order it online. What do you think?

Is it time for a new camera?

Well it finally happened. My DSLR is broken. As you may know, I am notoriously hard on my electronic equipment and my jewelry. I have actually faired quite well lately as I have had this camera for 4 years now and no problems, but it is getting close to vacation time (usually the time I NEED a new camera).

We had gone to Disneyland 2 weeks back and I dropped my camera not once but twice. I thought everything was fine as it continued to take pictures and everything was fine. Well last night I went to take pictures of the grandkids and some of the controls wouldn’t work. Oh boy.

I took her to the repair shop today. $20 to open her up and see what kind of condition she is in, I should know the damages tomorrow.

Look Who Came to Visit

I found this little fellow on the sidewalk by my front door. I hope he is able to find his way home.

Vintage Children

These are pictures from 1984. My how my children have grown.
Jillian will be 29 this year and Gino recently turned 26.

You will never guess who I saw

Elvis has not let the building. I saw him on Saturday and he can still rock the stage. Actually, we saw Scot Bruce - A Tribute to Elvis. He was preforming on the Tomorrowland Terrace at Disneyland. Scot Bruce is a great impersantor with a magical smile and sparkle in his eye. He and his band put on a great show.
Ryan, Darleen and Miss Rylee joined us for the evening. I tell you – that girl is soo cute!

Just too much excitement for one day

Thursday starts out like any other weekday. I get up and go to work. I get a phone call from my mom saying my dad has cut his finger and she has to take him to the doctor. They were supposed to baby-sit the girls as Jillian had a checkup scheduled and could I get in touch with Jillian as they wouldn’t be home. Of course. Thankfully, I only work about 2 miles from my parent’s house. I get there just after Jillian and take the girls so that she can make her appointment. Amara wasn’t too happy with this change in plans. (She suffers from separation anxiety really badly when she can’t see her mommy) Jillian gave me a Barney cd and off we go.

We came back to the house and watched Monster’s Inc. I love that movie (and the ride at Disney’s California Adventure). The girls also colored for a bit while watching the movie.
Then I go the slip and slid out. The girls had a ball with that.
Uncle Gino – when are you coming home and race us down the slip-n-slide?

After a lunch of McDonald's Happy Meals on the patio, Jillian came to get the girls and I went back to work. It sure was a nice way to break up the day!
