I interrupt this vacation post sequence to interject some birthday news. I turned 46 last week. I received my gifts from my Pat before we left (more than a few new outfits to take on vacation) and while on vacation (a new necklace and earrings). My parents gave me a Coach bag and a cute angel/lambie figurine. My birthday fell on a Thursday this year and of course we went to Don Jose (we almost always go to Don Jose’s on Thursday’s) for dinner.
After dinner, Jillian and the kids and Darlene and Rylee and Christina came over bearing gifts.
Christina and Darlene’s grandmother made a wonderful chocolate bundt cake with chocolate chips. It was very good! (Ugh - I didn't get any pictures)
Darlene found the cuties lambie sock slippers and many lambie friends to keep them company. I love wearing them and the lambie key chain snores! How cute is that? Jillian and Gino and Anthony got together while Gino was home on leave and took pictures. They presented me with two of the loveliest pictures they have ever taken.
My family knows me so well and knows the way to my heart! (Yes I know, I am spoiled and love it!) Thank you one and all.

. . . but the memories remain.
We have returned from our Alaskan Cruise. We cruised the Alaskan ports of Ketchikan, the Hubbard Glacier, Juneau, Sitka, the Inside Passage and Victoria British Colombia on the lovely Mercury with Celebrity Cruise Lines. Over all it was a great trip. There were many days of dreary, drizzly weather and every so often the sun would peak out. Stay tuned as I will be posting the highlights of the trip over the next few posts.

My son got to come home for a visit this at the end of August. He has gone back to post in Oman and we miss him soo much. His two week visit was too short of time and packed with much activity. It had been almost a year since we had seen him last.
And trips down the slip and slide!
Gino, we had such a fun time and we can't wait for your next visit.

My poor dog. About 5 months ago Bailey had knee surgery. He had blown out his knee. That meant surgery and 4 weeks in a cage. He had to be helped outside to go potty and numerious meds to take. Well he has done the same to the oposite knee. He is having his surgery today and he will remain at the vets while we are on vacation next week. UGH - then it is back to playing nurse maid to him when we get back. Good thing dogs only have 2 knees!
My other dog, Butter sure misses his buddy.

Here is one of my favorite pictures I have taken of my granddaughter. The picture is almost a year old and I finally made the perfect layout to highlight the picture. The layout was designed for a challenge that involved using 10 objects on a layout. What do you think?
