Next Project

So here is the start of my next project! I am excited to see how this is going to come out!

Amara's 4th Birthday

So yesterday I got the opportunity to spend the day day with friends scrapbooking at the the Oasis. I had a great time visiting with friends, enjoying good food, a little shopping (I was able to get some additional fabric for the next quilt I want to work on) and I completed this layout!!

New Bracelet

I have had this horrible, to the bone pain in my elbow for the past month or so, so today I went to the chiropractor (he diagnosed me as having tendinitis - ouch - but it feels much better now, thanks for asking). On my way back to work I stopped at JoAnn’s as I am looking for a couple of pieces of fabric for the next quilt I want to make. They didn’t have exactly what I was looking for - darn it. Then I passed Debra’s Cottage. This is a really cute store with lots of hand crafted items in it that I haven't been to in some time. That is where I found this beauty. I think I heard an angel sing and a light from heaven directly above this bit of loveliness! I knew it had to be mine!! I have actually found quite a few pieces of jewelry there that I have fallen in love with!

Let the planting begin!

With spring now upon us, it is time to start the garden! I have started with two tomato plants and in two or thee weeks I will start another tomato plant. I figure if I stagger the planting, I will have tomatoes all summer long! I also didn't want to invest too much effort until I see how the Sarge does. Butter and Bailey both would leave the tomato plants alone but ate every cumber plant I started. Now I am salivating for a BBLTAO (Bacon, Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato, Avocado and Onion) sandwich!!

And this little guy has turned into such a thief! He steals everything and chews it up. He seems to think the world is his bone! UGH!! Good thing he is such a cutiee!!

I found this really neat game for the iPhone. It is called Trism. I think the download is $2.99. Below is a review I found on line of the game.

"The goal of Trism is simple: eliminate triangles by grouping at least three of the same color. This is similar to the game Bejeweled but the Trism game has an arry of innovative twists.
Individual triangles, which are called 'trisms', can't be moved independently; instead, you move entire lines of trisms to clear like-colored groups from the board. Trism lines can be moved horizontally, vertically, and diagonally at two different angles. For example, if you wanted to connect a single yellow trism with a nearby pair of yellows, you would touch the sole trism and slide that row until one of its sides met with the pair of yellow trisms. When you lock that single yellow trism into position, you're also dragging whatever other trisms are on that same line. In other words, you're effectively shuffling the board. As soon as you clear a group of trisms from the board, new ones descend to fill the empty space. Here's where Trism distinguishes itself from other puzzle games: the position in which you hold the iPhone determines how trisms fall into the empty spaces on the board. Trisms always fall from top of the board, which is relative to how you hold the handset. Turn your iPhone on its left side and trisms will descend from the opposite side, now the relative top of the board.Naturally, this opens up the possibility for insane combos triggered by trisms tilted into all kinds of positions. Clear a trio of trisms and you can tilt your iPhone in order to direct descending trisms into another group, then readjust for a second tilt-based combo, and so on. Millions of points can be earned through skillful tilting of your iPhone in a matter of seconds."

If you own an iPhone and love puzzle games, you must check this game out! It is truly addicting!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Don't forget to wear green or you will get pinched! (My Pat isn't wearing green, so if you see him - pinch him! - He says with a name like Patrick, he doesn't have to wear green.)

New Table Runner

So this is my 1st project using the template set we purchased over the weekend at the Sewing and Quilt show. The instructions said to start with the large template set so this table runner is really large! I used fabric that I already had a the house and it came out nicely if I do say so myself!! I think I have the nack now and will progess to doing more complex patterns!

Pomona Quilt Show

So Saturday I went out to the Pomona Fairgrounds Sewing and Quilt show with my mom and dad. They spoiled me at the show. They purchased me this lamby. Sarge seems to think everything belongs to him.
See his surprise when I told him that this lamby was mine and not his. The lamby's new home has to remain up high - higher than my side table.
Suring the show, we attended a seminar entitled "Less Than Traditional" quilting. My parents purchased the starter kits and I purchased the marking pencils and flower instructions. We plan on sharing the templates.
Check out this new ironing table. It clips onto the end of my table for quick pressing of seams. It was a gift from my parents. Now to make good work of it!
Who knew there would be adorable clothing at the Quilt Show? I fell in love with no fewer than 6 different articles of clothing but settled on this lacy, vintage shirt!

Stay tuned for the new quilted table runner that I am working on!!

Open House

Last night was Arianna's open house at school. As I walked those halls with Jillian and the kids, I could help but be taken back to when my own childern were this small I was visiting the classrooms with them. Now I get to do it all again with my grandchildren!!
Here Arianna is with her teacher, Miss Gina.

This is a little peak into her desk. See how neat it is! I wonder if it is always this neat?? If you look closely, off to the left of the picture, you can see the plastic lid to her hand sanitizer sticking up.
Many of the children had art displayed in the gym. This is Arianna next to her drawing! I tell you, the girl is talented!!

Bag 'o Swag

I participated in the Color Me Daisy Organize Your Heart crop a couple weeks back and my prize package came. I received some really cool stuff! Thank you ladies!
